death. alan wang joins us now live from fairfield. >> carolyn, police know the girl's name, but they are not releasing it because they are trying to contact her family. the mystery around this murder is already attracting people here. word of the young teenage girl found in this park brought lidia and her family here tonight. >> we have kids of our own, so just to think about what this poor girl might have gone through. >> police say the girl in her early teens was reported missing yesterday evening around 5:30. about 12 hours later her naked body was discovered in neighboring fairfield at alan witt park. the case is now a homicide investigation, but police are not sure how she died because there were no wounds indicating the cause of death. they say the girl lived in sasoon city, but attended school in fairfield. >> they indicated that she had last been seen in the morning getting on a bus to go to school. normally she would return about 4:20 and she didn't. that's when they became concerned. >> early on police got a tip from this man who says he saw something strange as h
walker joins us live from fairfield where police just held a press conference. noel. >> reporter: tory coming to you live from the chambers where they just ap wrapped up. this is the photo of the suspect, his name is anthony lamar jones, 32 years old from fairfield, he was arrested for that. she was found a week ago today, her naked body found in a park by a passerby. today they released scant details still keeping things close to the vest but here is what they had to say minutes ago. >> jones was identified as a suspect early on in this case, since that time he has been under 24 hour surveillance, therefore there was no danger to public during the investigation. we have evidence linking jones to this homicide and we believe at this time he acted alone and there are no other suspects named in this case. >> now jones was found in fairfield. he was arrested at 7:00 this morning. as you heard after being under 24 hour surveillance, so as police said no danger to anyone else in the community. i did ask police if this case was linked to another one a year ago. jessica funk has lem was a gir

over guns and ammo is heating up in san francisco. new at noon sal castaneda joins us live with the new proposals that could be the target of lawsuits. we understand a vote has just been taken. >> reporter: that's right, tori,es a expected the committee did move that vote out of committee and if approved and it is approved by the full board of supervisors, if it is approved it would change the way ammo is bought and sold in san francisco. the mayor and the police chief and supervisor are pushing legislation to ban the sale of certain types of ammo and keep track of anyone who buys more than a certain amount. under the new rules hollow point bullets and bullets that expand after being fired would not be legal within the city and county of san francisco. the mayor says that type of ammo has no place in the city and the supervisor says momentum began to build to make changes after knee mass shootings at a connecticut elementary school. >> is this reactionary? no. but oftentimes in order to have quality conversations we need a trigger . and that provided a trigger for us to galvanize suppor
identified at wayne jackson but he used a number of fake names including dan therrien the name he was using when he died in 1988. jackson had a history of child molestation including the sexual assault of two kids in canada. he got out of prison in 1984, the same year that kevin collins was abducted at age ten. he lived a block away from where collins disappeared. >> the individual with five names that now we know had a history of molesting young boys, he should haven a much stronger suspect. authorities dug up the garage on masonic and found what appears to be animal bones that are tested in analyzed. >> fairfield police are asking for your help in the killer of a 13-year-old, the guardian also reported her missing last thursday evening. the girl's naked body was found friday morning at the park. investigators say an autopsy confirmed she was killed. they will not say how. police are also not releasing any information of possible suspects or suspicious vehicles. a surveillance video shows her alive on thursday afternoon near railroad avenue four miles from where she was found dead. police

this morning. it's a bellwether for the nation's economy. rebecca jarvis is here with us. what are they saying about the economy? >> looking backwards walmart had a good christmas, that holiday sales worked out well for them they earned more than wall street was expecting, they came in a little light on sales. however, going forward, that's really the question walmart is considered a bellwether for our overall economy and what they told us this morning is that the payroll tax cut is impacting consumers, that pike that we saw at the beginning of the year the 2% hike that takes about $20 out of people's weekly paychecks, that's getting their consumer also gasoline price is up 50 cents in the last month, that's hitting consumers and there's a temporary knock on the consumer because refunds have been delayed. the tax code had to be overhauled as a result of many of the reforms at the end of last year and they're saying their consumer has been hit by delays in the refund checks about $20 billion in refund checks didn't go out on time. >> new information this morning rebecca t
